Anna Kuo is a filmmaker based in Taipei, Taiwan. Her work spans music videos, documentaries, and experimental films. The world Anna captures is filled with sensitive observations of overlooked details, revealing emotional undercurrents. She wields her imagination within the confines of everyday life, probing habits and gestures we take for granted.
After spending a formative decade in the US, Anna returned to her hometown of Taipei, a lusciously vibrant city where plants and structures grow lawlessly. Her experiences moving between cultures have often positioned her as an outsider everywhere she goes, cultivating in her a fresh and curious perspective.
Her work has been featured on Nowness Asia and Vimeo Staff Pick, screened at the global climate conference COP26 and the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, selected for Nowness Asia’s best-of-year list, and longlisted for the 1.4 Awards. In 2025, she was selected as a fellow at the Casa Caché Residency based in Mérida, Mexico.
